What you bring to SBHG High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required Personal experience as a consumer, foster parent, or parent of a child in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems required Experience in a mental health, health care, or other social services agency / organization serving people with disabilities a plus Peer Support Specialist Certification: successful completion of the certification process within one year of employment Valid California Driver's License How you will make a difference Provides services to families within the community and/or at assigned sites, providing identified practices into services. Conducts a strengths interview with family members; tells own story to engage families. Identifies family strengths for problem solving and assists family in identifying specific underlying needs. Provides psychoeducation and training to families as appropriate and within their scope of practice. Educates family members on available resources and how to access them. Links family members to identified resources, including housing, food, education/vocation, recreation, spiritual, and social, as deemed appropriate in Partnership with the treatment team.
