Welder and Fabricator

Job Description

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a steel bending and fabrication metal shop. You will primarily handle structural steel projects using carbon steel, but will also occasionally work with other metals and welding processes. We are seeking a MIG and TIG welder interested in a long-term role with growth potential.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding for structural steel projects.
• Handle fabrication tasks and work with various metals and welding processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints for welding and fitting projects.
• Utilize tools such as shears, grinders, and torches safely and effectively.
• Participate in a weld test, demonstrating skills in overhead, horizontal, vertical, and flat positions.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of MIG and TIG welding experience.
• Ability to perform welding in all positions.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Experience with tools such as shears, grinders, and torches.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 6g Certification or the ability to get certified.
• Experience in structural steel fabrication.
• Willingness to join Local 516 Union upon.

Work Environment

You will work in an industrial metal bending and fabrication shop. Day shifts are available from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The shop provides free employer-provided coveralls, welding, and safety gear. Enjoy a comfortable work atmosphere with a newly renovated, air-conditioned lunchroom.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
