The Experience Team collaborates across Zoox to define and champion the “Human Experience”. We embrace a human-centered design process that is collaborative, data-driven, and iterative. We are looking for a Design Intern to join our Experience Design Team. Our mission is to define, design, and deliver the best possible experience to our customers through our innovative product and service. Create seamless flows, intuitive interfaces, and meaningful interactions that are accessible and delightful, to build trust, enable new scenarios, and increase value to the customers.

In this Role, You Will...

• Work towards gaining a clear understanding of our users.
• Ideate design concepts and solutions through creating UX wireframes, UI concepts, and quick digital/physical prototyping to enable fast iterations in our design processes.
• Champion the Human Centered design approach and share the value across the company.
• Conduct continuous usability testing of concepts and clear presentation of feedback to de-risk the decision-making process.
• Understand the technological challenges of our design and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams of designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers amongst others.

Qualifications

• Currently working towards M.A. in a relevant program.
• Able to commit to a minimum of a 12-week internship.
• Basic knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Flinto, FramerX, etc.
• A portfolio showcasing relevant design work.
• Proven problem-solving ability and strong user empathy.

Bonus Qualifications

• UX/UI prototyping skills.
• Experience in tech or automotive industries.
• Interest in product inclusivity and accessibility.

Compensation

The monthly salary range for this position is $5,500 to $7,500 . Compensation will vary based on role, degree level and type, and benefits will be offered based on eligibility. Additional benefits may include medical insurance, 401k, and a housing stipend.
