First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Medford, Oregon.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Floating Requirement:
Will be required to float as needed across ICU, IMCU, and CVICU units.

General Job Duties / Procedures:
The RN is a professional caregiver responsible and accountable for their practice and for assigned patients. Using the nursing process, the RN delivers exceptional, compassionate care, demonstrates a commitment to excellence, and actively supports process improvement. The role includes working in all Critical Care units with floating throughout the hospital as needed.

1. Equipment Utilized

• EPIC electronic medical record
• B. Braun pumps
• Avea ventilators
• Gemstar epidural pumps
• Edwards & Phillips patient monitoring
• Omnicell medication dispensing systems

2. Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 2 years of critical care experience , including:

• Post–heart cath recovery & patient management
• Post–op day 1 open-heart surgery patient management
• Long-term ventilated patient care
• Swan-Ganz catheter experience
• Vasoactive medication titration
• TEA, Triple A, and general surgery patient management
  Note: Travelers will not receive fresh heart patients.

3. Licensure & Certifications

• Valid Oregon RN License
• BLS required
• ACLS required

4. Shift & Schedule Requirements

• 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend (may require consecutive weekends to accommodate time-off requests)
• No scheduled call , but may be placed on mandatory standby for low census during a scheduled shift
• Will not work alone

5. Floating Expectations

Primary float to: ICU, IMCU, CVICU, ED
Secondary float to: Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Ortho/Neuro, BHU

Per RN Union Contract, travelers float before regular staff . Travelers may float to any floor; if floated to Med-Surg, they may serve as a resource nurse with a reduced assignment.

6. Unit Details

• CVICU: 20 beds
• ICU: 22 beds
• IMCU: 16 beds

7. Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

• ICU / CVICU: 1:1–1:2
• IMCU: 1:3

Each shift also includes CNA/US support, MT, an unencumbered charge RN, and Break RNs as staffing allows.

8. Dress Code

• Standard scrub top and bottoms (any color)
• No visible tattoos on neck or above
• No facial piercings

9. Training & Orientation

• 18 hours of Critical Care orientation (ICU, IMCU, CVICU)

Additional Notes

• RNs must read Asante email weekly — this is the primary communication method.
• ICU holds a Gold Beacon Award ; CVICU holds a Silver Beacon Award .
• Strong educational support available, including 2 RN educators.
