About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pipeline Survey Technician to support energy infrastructure projects with a focus on preliminary survey work, as-built survey verification, and pipeline routing . This position is fully remote, with project-based travel as needed. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building routes, producing alignment sheets, and supporting engineering/design teams with accurate survey data .

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary surveys for pipeline projects, collecting field data to support engineering and planning.

  • Perform as-built surveys to verify pipeline construction accuracy and compliance with design specifications.

  • Develop and maintain pipeline routes and alignment sheets , ensuring precision and clarity for engineering and construction teams.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and GIS specialists to deliver high-quality survey deliverables.

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

  • Support remote project coordination with occasional site visits as required.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in pipeline or utility surveying (field or office).

  • Proficiency with survey instruments, GPS/GNSS, and CAD/GIS tools (MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or equivalent).

  • Strong understanding of pipeline alignment sheets and survey deliverables for utility projects.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, construction plans, and survey notes.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment .

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with linear infrastructure projects (pipelines, transmission lines, utilities).

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and as-built documentation requirements .

  • Prior work with remote teams and digital survey workflows .
