Job Description

Overview

Come join PDX as a Staff Technical Program Manager. We are looking for creative problem solvers to serve as a program leader, with responsibility for overall program delivery and success. Help the team develop and manage our highest impacting programs to accelerate our mission of powering prosperity around the world.

If you’re passionate about building platforms at scale that help transform the lives of consumers, small businesses and accountants we would love to have you join our team as a PMO for PDX . We are looking for candidates who have strong program management experience with deep technical understanding, customer empathy, strong execution capability, and a track record of building strong business partnerships and delivering impactful business results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end migration programs (e.g., Kubernetes or platform transitions) across 30+ engineering teams, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and execution milestones.
  • Develop and execute migration playbooks, coordinating workstreams across US, India, and distributed geographies to ensure consistent progress and quality.
  • Serve as the central execution engine — drive accountability, track dependencies, and surface risks early to leadership.
  • Act as a proactive problem-solver, independently unblocking teams and escalating critical risks only when necessary.
  • Partner with engineering and product leaders to define success metrics, measure adoption, and ensure operational excellence during and after migrations.
  • Ensure cross-team synchronization by establishing clear communication cadences, tracking alignment on API, infrastructure, and integration readiness.
  • Use data to continuously evaluate program health — identifying deviations, driving course corrections, and communicating impact and trade-offs.
  • Influence leadership through well-articulated recommendations that balance business impact, technical feasibility, and execution constraints.
  • Create visibility for distributed teams and ensure high engagement through transparent reporting and clear status tracking.
  • Foster a culture of ownership and collaboration, ensuring teams remain motivated and focused through long-duration initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Technical Program Management experience leading large-scale, cross-functional programs across engineering, platform, and infrastructure domains.
  • Proven success in managing complex migrations or modernization programs that span 20–30+ teams and multiple time zones.
  • Strong execution rigor — able to translate high-level business goals into actionable plans, track dependencies, and manage delivery through ambiguity.
  • Exceptional skill in risk management and proactive mitigation, identifying potential blockers early and driving resolution independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with engineering, architecture, and product leadership to drive alignment and influence without authority.
  • Deep understanding of cloud, infrastructure, or platform technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, CI/CD, autoscaling, network management, service mesh).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; adept at synthesizing complex technical topics into clear executive summaries.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related technical field; Agile training and experience preferred
