Summary
The Production Manager directs overall plant operations ensuring the achievement of production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with the company quality standards and customer delivery requirements. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments and directly supervise the plant staff to ensure the achievement of production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with company quality requirements.
•Establish production schedules to ensure timely delivery of customer products.
•Evaluate, recommend and implement improvements in methods and processes to increase productivity and quality.
•Develop plans for the maximum utilization of materials, machines and employees.
•Review production costs and product quality; modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
•Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and building and establish plant housekeeping standards.
•Develop and recommend plant capital and operating budgets to ensure conformance to budgets.
•Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental and various regulatory agencies
•Enforce safety and work rules and company housekeeping standards.
•Ensure compliance with all quality, safety and sanitation regulations.
•Satisfy the required hours of the department.

Education and/or Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree in production and operations management from a four-year college or university plus related experience, or a combination of education and experience. Requires the ability to operate a computer, a variety of small hand tools and precision measuring devices, and standard office machines. Requires a general knowledge of company products and procedures. Requires a working knowledge of accounting methods and cost control procedures.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customer, and other employees of the organization

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
