SMT Machine Operator

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a SMT Machine Operator to join their team. As a SMT Machine Operator, you will be part of the manufacturing department supporting the assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs). The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and excellent problem-solving skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: SMT Machine Operator

Location: Portland, OR

Pay Range: $20/hr

Shift: Mon-Fri 5am-1:30pm

What's the Job?

• Operate SMT machines to accurately place surface-mount components onto PCBs in accordance with production specifications.
• Set up, program, and calibrate SMT machines for new production runs to ensure optimal efficiency and accuracy.
• Load reels of electronic components into machine feeders and verify continuous material supply during operation.
• Conduct visual inspections of completed boards to ensure assembly meets quality and technical standards.
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and calibration of SMT equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.

What's Needed?

• Experience with SMT machines, programming, and an understanding of basic electronics.
• Strong hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and good eyesight for working with small components.
• Ability to closely follow technical instructions and identify assembly defects during visual inspections.
• Comfortable using computer systems and software to manage machine settings, diagnostics, and production records.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or relevant certifications are preferred.
