Senior Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our team based in Long Island, NY. This pivotal role focuses on managing the tax compliance, planning, and accounting aspects for a prominent firm specialized in handling high-net-worth individual accounts and pass-through entities. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in various areas of taxation, combined with a strategic mindset to enhance tax services and client satisfaction.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Stay updated on tax legislation changes and advise on implications
• Conduct in-depth research on corporate, personal, and state taxes
• Prepare, review, and file various federal and state income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Oversee and manage audits of federal and state income taxes
• Formulate and implement strategic tax planning to optimize tax benefits
• Maintain frequent communications with management on tax-related issues and strategies
• Work collaboratively with accounting staff to resolve tax accounting issues
• Build and maintain robust client relationships, understanding their needs and providing tailored tax solutions
• Deliver strategic business and tax advisory recommendations to clients

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or Enrolled Agent certification
• Seven or more years of tax consulting experience with focus on corporate and individual returns
• Proven expertise in managing compliance and partnership, and trust returns
• Capability to train and develop junior staff members
• Audit experience is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Taxation
• Experience with S Corporation returns
• Knowledge in Estate and Gift Tax returns
• Previous roles that include strategic tax planning for high-net-worth individuals
• Strong history in tax audit proceedings and resolutions
