The Community You Will Join: The Android Platform team’s mission is to provide best-in-class experience for Android development at Airbnb to empower engineers to deliver innovative solutions with high velocity and quality at scale. We’re ambitious in our vision, and our work spans a large surface area, from frameworks and tooling to build systems, CI, Testing, and IDE integrations. Our latest projects include Trio, an Android framework for Jetpack Compose screen architecture , and Focus Mode, an Android Studio plugin to supercharge IDE & Sync performance , among many others. The Difference You Will Make: Over the last few years, we’ve built a few IDE integrations that simplify the development lifecycle by providing the tooling our developers need at the moment they need them. We are expanding our efforts in this space by up-leveling our current plugins’ UX and re-imagining how to apply LLMs to improve our developers’ productivity. The solutions we build in this space are used not only by Android Studio users but also by the larger community of Airbnb developers using IntelliJ IDEA. We’re looking for a person with a good eye for detail and a passion for building great user experiences to help us customize our IDEs through innovative solutions that accelerate developers' productivity. Our ideal candidate has years of experience building Android apps and is eager to learn infrastructure solutions. A Typical Day: Design & develop the frontend of our IDE Plugins using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Collaborate with other developers on the overall functionality and success of the plugins (within our team and cross-functionally.) Help inform the vision & strategy of the team in the IDE space. Your Expertise: 5+ years of industry experience building Android apps using Kotlin. 2+ years of experience building apps using Jetpack Compose. Passion for building interactive and delightful user experiences.

Your Location: This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
