Senior Property Accountant

LHH Professional Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Property Accountant for our local Houston area real estate client. The successful candidate will have prior experience overseeing the accounting operations for a portfolio of properties, managing the day-to-day accounting activities, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and reconciliations. Primary responsibilities of the Senior Property Accountant role:

• Responsible full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of real estate properties,
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, general ledger entries, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with property managers to ensure accurate rent rolls, tenant billing, and collections processes.
• Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Coordinate and manage external audits for property-level financials.
• Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.

Primary qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in real estate property accounting
• Ability to train, mentor and lead others
• Proficiency in property management accounting software
  Advanced knowledge of Excel for financial analysis and reporting
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Pay Details: $85,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year
