The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking three Seasonal Conservation Educators who will assist in outreach and education efforts by leading two youth camps, five family camps, two Becoming an Outdoors Woman camps, and one educator professional development camp at the Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp (WMCC) near Dubois, WY. Seasonal Conservation Educators will provide the public with information about wildlife, fisheries, habitat management, ecology, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor recreation skills. Housing provided includes individual rooms which are provided for the majority of the season at the WMCC, and food is provided during programming.

Delivering high-quality, engaging programming to youth and family groups.
Maintaining a collection of educational materials.
Leading safe, engaging, and fun camp experiences for all ages.
Informing and educating the public about conservation and the Wyoming Game and Fish mission.
Assisting with routine clean up and set up of program areas.
Sharing a passion and knowledge of Wyoming's abundant wildlife, recreational opportunities, and rich natural history.
PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Preference will be given to those working towards or who have a bachelor's degree in education, wildlife/fisheries biology, biological sciences, environmental science, ecology, or a related field.
Preference will be given to those who have experience working with high-school-aged students, instructing all ages including adults.
Preference will be given to those who have experience safely supervising students in an outdoor education environment.
Preference will be given to those who have knowledge of a variety of outdoor skills including orienteering, first aid, fishing, archery, wildlife ecology, and outdoor recreation.
Preference will be given to those with current Wilderness First Aid/Responder and/or CPR certification.
**Must have a valid driver's license.
KNOWLEDGE:
Must be able to work well independently with minimal supervision, as well as able to work well with others on a team.
Requires a flexible schedule including travel and long days (14+ hours), working evenings and weekends.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with all ages and backgrounds.
Must have the ability to work outdoors in varied terrain and weather conditions
Must be able to responsibly maintain direct supervision of participants while involved with activities such as fishing, canoeing, archery, air rifle, long hikes, outdoor science investigations, and team builders.
Knowledge of regional ecology and wildlife
Experience with archery, fishing, navigation, first aid, canoeing, and other outdoor recreation skills.
Must have excellent communication skills, strong organizational and leadership skills, enthusiasm, flexibility, and a passion for working with students.
Must demonstrate teaching skills and the ability to implement creative "hands-on" teaching methods.

Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Weekend and evening work will be required.
Must stay in provided housing at the Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp during camps.
The position requires passing a background check and completing a basic Adult + Child CPR and Basic First Aid certification (provided by WGFD).

Successful applicants for employment must pass a background check prior to the appointment.
The tentative starting date is May 22, 2023.
The tentative ending date is August 9, 2023.
Uniforms and other necessary gear will be provided when in the field.
Department housing is provided at the Whiskey Mountain Camp.
