The Salesforce Release Manager oversees and coordinates release activities across multiple Salesforce environments. This role ensures that all releases weekly, three-week and project-based are delivered on time, meet quality standards and remain aligned with organizational objectives. The Release Manager collaborates closely with development teams, QA, business stakeholders and technical leadership to maintain smooth, predictable and well-documented release cycles. The role is also responsible for maintaining environment alignment by back-promoting changes across lower-level orgs.
Manage the end-to-end Salesforce release cycle across multiple orgs.
Ensure all releases meet scope, quality and timeline expectations.
Back-promote changes to lower environments to keep sandboxes in sync.
Support CI/CD processes using tools such as Copado or Salesforce DevOps Center.
Build and develop Salesforce platform solutions as needed.
Create technical demonstrations and Proofs of Concept (POCs).
Ensure technical solutions align with enterprise architecture and scalability standards.
Develop technical documentation, solution designs and process materials.
Work closely with developers, QA, product owners, business analysts and stakeholders.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives and backlog refinement.
Communicate release progress, risks, and blockers to leadership and stakeholders.
Evaluate and install Salesforce seasonal releases; perform related training and support.
Maintain Service Cloud features such as case management and omni-channel routing.
Manage Salesforce permissions including roles, profiles, sharing rules and groups.
Create and optimize advanced automation using Flows (screen flows, autolaunched flows, omni-channel flows).
Monitor system performance and perform diagnostic tasks as needed.
Document release processes, errors, changes and resolutions.
Ensure adherence to change management, DevOps and SDLC standards.
Provide accurate reporting on sprint progress, including story points and completion rates.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (preferred).
3–5 years of Salesforce release management experience , ideally across multiple orgs.
3–5 years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator or Developer.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Copado (preferred) or similar tools.
Practical experience with Salesforce deployment tools: Change Sets, ANT Migration, Salesforce DX.
Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies (sprints, scrums, backlog management).
Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and platform capabilities.
Salesforce Certified Administrator
Copado Fundamentals I (Fundamentals II preferred)
Salesforce Platform App Builder or Salesforce Developer certification.
Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Trello or Azure DevOps.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills during release cycles.
Strong knowledge of Salesforce architecture, including sandboxes, production orgs and metadata management.
Experience with release automation and version control (Copado, Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, SFDX).
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
