These evaluations, implemented by | | social service providers and researchers, will generate impactful | | data that advances anti-poverty work. The Research Design Manager leads social service providers | | as they navigate the research design process, translating research | | questions into viable impact evaluations. High-quality research | | design is foundational for identifying impactful, evidence-based | | solutions to effectively alleviate poverty. | | | | The Research Design Manager's top priorities will be to: | | | | - Independently project manage a portfolio of complex projects | | through LEO's project design process until the point of project | | launch. | | - Project design - A 16-week process led by the Research Design | | Manager in collaboration with senior researchers and social | | service providers to design impact evaluations. This includes | | defining the intervention, conducting power calculations, | | designing logistics for study enrollment, and initiating | | relationships with staff and data stakeholders. | | - Project launch - Once the project completes the design | | process, the Research Design Manager focuses on ensuring a | | timely launch, enabling researchers to begin enrolling | | participants in the study. Enrollment marks the transition of | | the project management role from the Research Design Manager | | to aLEOPre-Doc. | | - Bridge the gap between providers and researchers by gathering | | researcher and provider input in formulating a research design, | | ensuring that allLEOprojects have well-defined interventions, | | measurable outcomes, sufficient sample sizes, and unbiased | | comparison groups. This includes identifying problems and | | proposing creative solutions. | | - Liaise between researchers, service providers, and marketing | | consultants to ensure all projects have a well-designed | | recruitment plan. | | - Execute all tasks required to launch a research project, | | including but not limited to submittingIRBprotocols, drafting | | data sharing agreements, and completing pre-analysis plans. | | - Ensure a strong project hand-off to aLEOPre-Doc at the point of | | project launch with a focus on relationship maintenance and | | project momentum. | | | | Please note: This is a five-year, limited-term position. | | Contingent on funding, the position may be extended. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | The Research Design Manager owns the achievement of LEO's research | | design goals-developing robust impact evaluations that address key | | questions related to anti-poverty service provision.
