Mpower is proud to offer an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper. Candidates will be considered to join Mpower’s Accounting Team at our headquarters in Brooklyn. We seek an organized, detail-obsessed individual with good communication skills. The ideal candidate is proactive and thorough, utilizing their business acumen, accounting skills, software skills, and high attention to detail to produce compelling work.

Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret all invoices, payment requests, and credit memos for accuracy and compliance with Mpower's accounting practices and policies.
• Assist existing team in troubleshooting operational payables questions, responding to concerns, and solving problems.
• Maintain, monitor, and resolve quarterly accounts payable aging report
• Input payables-related documents into our system to produce payables checks to all vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
• Translate various payables and purchasing forms in our accounting system to troubleshoot check issues.
• Distribute payments to suppliers and employees, including granting or denying petty cash requests.
• Process manual payables checks when needed.
• Responsible for processing highly sensitive and confidential documents daily.

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Accounting
• 2+ years of accounting clerk experience in Accounts Payable or a similar role
• 2+ years of Quickbooks experience
• Experience using Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with online invoicing via “Bill.com”
• Journalizing experience
• Detail oriented
• Proficient problem-solver
• Efficient at a fast pace
• Excellent time management
• Positive attitude
• Consummate team player

Candidates must be growth oriented, possess a professional positive attitude with excellent work ethic and have high level of integrity. Compensation will be determined heavily based upon experience and/or qualificaitons.
