Overhead Crane Operator Automation Personnel Services is looking for an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to work at a Memphis, TN facility. Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position heavy steel coils, tubes, and materials safely across the production floor. Afford a zero‑incident workflow in our fast‑paced steel mill. Pay Rate USD 18.00 – 24.00 per hour (depending on experience) Schedule and Hours Second Shift: 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm Third Shift: 11:00 pm – 7:00 am Duties and Responsibilities Inspect cranes, rigging, and loads daily for safety and functionality. Maneuver loads precisely to loading docks, production lines, or storage up to 50 tons. Coordinate with riggers, welders, and team leads via radio for clear signals. Follow all OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and in‑house safety protocols. Maintain equipment logs, report issues, and perform basic upkeep like greasing cables. Assist with inventory counts. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Valid NCCCO or equivalent crane certification; at least two years of experience in steel or manufacturing. Strong mechanical aptitude, sharp eyesight, and steady hands for high‑reach operations. Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, in a noisy, hot environment. Reliable team player who thrives under pressure. Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working overtime as needed. Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
