This position is for the Emanuel West Tower ISCU. Monday-Friday 11 am - 730 pm.
ResponsibilitiesParticipates as part of the perioperative team in assisting Operating Room (OR) staff with support services necessary for safe and efficient patient care and environmental cleanliness within the various areas of Surgical Services. Functions in the Core Assistant role, assists in case cart preparation, including surgical instrumentation used in the operating room. Frequent duties include, but are not limited to transportation of blood and specimens, stocking and maintaining cores, maintaining the general orderliness of assigned Surgical Services department, and errands as assigned. This position is responsible for floating to any area of Surgical & Interventional Services (SIS) as directed by SIS leadership for operational purposes.
QualificationsEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
One year previous medical experience in an acute care setting preferred. Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or central sterile tech preferred.
Skills:
Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions in English and perform basic computations. Medical terminology desirable.
Must be able to work well with other team members.
Must be able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
Must be able to quickly perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
