Overview TEKsystems is seeking a Core IP Network Engineer II or III for a 2-year 100% remote contract. Responsibilities Engineer II/III, IP Engineering to provide engineering design and implementation services to support the company's IP/MPLS core network, carrier Ethernet transport systems, cellular data core systems, and/or video transmission services. Provide technical leadership and escalation support for various operations and engineering groups, as well as technical training and mentorship to team members. Facilitate collaboration with internal departments to ensure reliable operation and growth of a converged and scalable carrier network. Essential Duties Test new technologies and service architectures in lab environments. Plan, design, implement, and document new network implementations. Complete Engineering Estimates and Installation Packages as needed. Provide escalation and troubleshooting support for operations teams. Mentor more junior staff to grow technical knowledge and experience. Additional Job Requirements Mid-level engineer with comprehensive understanding of the company's IP/MPLS core network; able to independently complete assigned engineering projects with minimal assistance. Develop project management skills to manage multiple projects within timelines and budgets. Comprehensive troubleshooting skills to assist operations groups in resolving network issues. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Minimum four years of relevant and progressive technical experience in a Carrier Ethernet or large ISP environment. High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Telecommunications or related field required. Or, a combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job on a year-for-year basis; graduate degree may substitute for professional engineering experience on a year-for-year basis. Certifications: Industry specific certifications relevant to the discipline are highly valued and may contribute toward education requirements.
