Responsibilities

• Drive our state-of-the-art Mercedes Sprinter van to scheduled appointments in the downtown Tampa area – equipped with the latest technology to ensure you can work in comfort all year long.
• Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and other pets.
• Assess the condition of each pet's coat and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming area to ensure a safe environment for pets.
• Communicate with pet owners about their pets' grooming needs and any health concerns observed during the grooming process.
• Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort during grooming sessions.
• Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, fostering positive relationships with clients.

Skills

• Familiarity with animal care practices, including knowledge of health indicators in pets.
• A love of animals!
• Ability to work independently - take breaks as needed but able to get the work done. We want to work with you to make sure you are comfortable and happy! Feel free to use headphones and listen to music as you work.
• Proven experience as a professional pet groomer, with a deep understanding of various grooming techniques, breed-specific cuts, and coat types.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, with the ability to drive a grooming van safely and efficiently.
• Passion for working with animals and a demonstrated ability to handle pets of all sizes, temperaments, and breeds.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pet owners and provide outstanding customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality grooming services.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet appointment schedules.
• Flexibility to work weekends and occasional extended hours based on customer demand.
• Certification from a reputable grooming school or a similar grooming qualification is highly desirable.
• Ability to lift large dogs temporarily.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 50 per week
