Overview:

The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician performs and interprets analysis on patient specimens using complex laboratory techniques. The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician Provides medical staff with information to aid in patient diagnosis. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. 

Qualifications:

Medical Laboratory Technician 

• Education : Associate degree in a major acceptable to a certification agency for MLT 
• Certification/Registration: MLT ASCP or equivalent 

OR 

Medical Technologist I 

• Education : Associate degree
• Certifications : MLT certification OR Bachelors degree, in a major that meets a certification agencys requirements OR Completion of a 50 week U.S. military medical laboratory training course
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Preferred Experience : 3 years acceptable clinical laboratory experience
• Preferred Certifications : MT(ASCP) or equivalent

OR 

Medical Technologist II 

• Education : Bachelor's degree 

• Certifications : MT or MLS (ASCP) or equivalent required
