LaSalle Network is currently seeking a skilled and experienced
Medical Biller to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medical claims, billing patients and insurance companies and following up on outstanding balances. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and collections, excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Medical Biller Responsibilities: - Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information for billing purposes
- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies, government payers and other third-party payers in a timely manner
- Follow up on outstanding claims and denied or rejected claims to ensure prompt resolution and maximize reimbursement
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, coding errors and other issues impacting claim processing and payment
- Generate patient statements and invoices, and assist patients with questions regarding their bills and insurance coverage
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to obtain necessary documentation and information for billing purposes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of billing and collections activities, including payment posting and adjustments
- Adhere to billing and coding guidelines, regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures
Medical Biller Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing and collections in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, insurance companies and colleagues
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement processes, including Medicare and Medicaid, preferred
