JOB TITLE : Materials Standard Coordinator - MNR
SALARY RANGE : $70,000 - $85,000

HOURS OF WORK : 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (8 hours/day)

This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.
SUMMARY :
This position is responsible to assist the Assistant Director in the processing of standard stock Item ID numbers within the PeopleSoft Material Catalog. Responsibilities also include the review and validation of request documents, data entry and maintenance of the Materials Catalog
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensure adherence to all standard material procedures. Obtain approval for new and existing material Item ID maintenance from authorized approvers within each sub department in MNR. Act as liaison between MNR and the MTA Business Service Center to obtain approval for new and existing Items IDs. Ensure that item documentation is accurate and adheres to guidelines set forth between the agencies.
- Directly responsible for documentation pertaining to new and existing material items utilizing the department's catalog tracking system (MM26E). Responsibilities include training new system users as well as periodic reviews to all MM26E tables. Responsible for all aspects related to MM26E records maintenance.
- Support the Assistant Director with item and category maintenance within P&MM Materials Catalog consisting of 48,000 individual Item IDs within various commodity categories. Provide catalog support to both Maintenance of Equipment and Maintenance of Way Departments with program modifications as well as the creation and maintenance of department specific items and warehouse setups. Assist in reporting of catalog information and finding and/or approving alternate sources for common items.
- Coordinate with storeroom personnel to identify duplicate and obsolete materials. Responsible for correcting
- and input of item data into PeopleSoft. Track material using various codes for reporting purposes.
- Provide department guidelines, system training and guidance to support staff as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Knowledge of inventory & procurement principles, systems, and government procurement regulations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel Macro (or comparable software applications) to include query creation and modification. Familiarity with Power BI a plus.
- Strong proficiency in PeopleSoft (or comparable procurement management system) query creation and modification.
- Strong proficiency in data validation to ensure query quality.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and integrated computer system skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in high pressure situations; must be flexible and able to adapt to change.
- Ability to work with independently with minimum of supervision and guidance.
- Ability to exercise a high level of independent judgment and decision-making.
- Ability to deal with internal and external customers on all levels.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field preferred. Demonstrated equivalent experience, education and/or technical credentials to include four (4) additional years Of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in database management, query development, and/or reporting in a procurement or material management environment
PREFERRED
- Familiarity with Material Management systems, Inventory and/or Transportation/Railroad Operations.
