Job Details - Execute and oversee raw materials characterization, ensuring conformance to specifications and maintaining associated data.
- Provide supporting information for sales and estimating staff regarding additive components RFQs.
- Contribute AM and component test inputs to job kickoff requirements reviews.
- Prepare customer part models for 3D metal printing in CAD, including necessary modifications for post-machining and tie-down ribs.
- Prepare build project files for 3D metal printing, including layout, support, and identification of parts and test coupons.
- Utilize approved build parameter files to prepare machine build files for specific metal alloys and layer thicknesses.
-Manage AM job scheduling and execution, including raw materials supply and recycled metal powder management.
- Oversee AM operators’ job performance, including LPBF unit build preparation, execution, removal, depowering, and build plate removal, with process signoffs and data retention.
- Collaborate with AM operators and facilities staff on planned and unplanned maintenance activities and record keeping for metal AM units.
- Perform, oversee, and retain data for component pressure, leak, flow, particle count testing, and cleaning requirements.
- Conduct and oversee data retention for 3D printed metal coupon chemical composition and mechanical property testing.
- Ensure jobs adhere to the AM workflow and meet quality management system and digital thread requirements.
- Perform and oversee the revision of existing QMS documents and generate new documents as required.
- Gain knowledge of industry specifications (ASTM, AMS, ISO, etc.) on customer drawings or manufacturing specifications and advise operations on manufacturing workflow and process implications.
- Support sales/business development through customer request reviews, meeting participation, and attending industry trade events, requiring occasional travel.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or advanced degree in a related engineering or technical field.
- Understanding of metal laser powder bed fusion platforms.
- Experience redesigning components for metal laser powder bed fusion.
- Proficiency with engineering analysis tools and CAD/AM data preparation software (e.g., Inventor, Magics, GibbsCAM, etc.).
- Experience with data processing and analysis.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems and associated certifications.
