Intermediate-level Contract Specialists | World Trade Center
Client:
The Contract Specialist will work for our client, a leading civil engineering firm, established in 1999 and recently voted as one of the Top 25 Engineering firms by NJ Biz. This firm has steadily grown based on a solid reputation for providing quality service. The diverse staff includes a team of respected engineers and inspectors throughout New Jersey and New York. Efforts include some of the largest transportation projects in the New York Metropolitan area such as the Raising of the Bayonne Bridge, Tappan Zee Hudson River Crossing, NJ Turnpike Widening, and Fulton Street Transit Center.
Description:
Reporting to the Engineer of Construction at the World Trade Center, the Contract Specialist shall perform diverse duties requiring independent analysis, exercise of judgement, and detailed knowledge of agency procedures. Work will consist of a variety of duties in support of construction management operations/construction managers.
Responsibilities:
Prepare contract books/project manuals which contain complete project-specific administrative and technical requirements for construction and maintenance contracts.
Perform additional contract specialist duties of a diverse nature.
Responsible for independent analysis.
Support construction management operations.
Assist the project team with establishment of staging requirements, and milestone completion requirements.
Investigate and help resolve contractual and technical comments and issues with engineering staff.
Facilitate internal document distribution and review process.
Serve as a liaison for the procurement department to prepare responses and coordinate input for responses.
Prepare “soft” cost budgets for performing contract related tasks.
Qualifications:
Must have an Associate Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Business.
Minimum of 4 years of experience with development, preparation, and delivery of contract documents for multi-disciplinary AEC projects.
Valid driver’s license or other government ID required.
Ability to obtain a high SWAC clearance.
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and SAP.
Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
Education:
Must have an Associate Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Business. A Bachelor’s Degree is desirable but NOT required.
