Desired Qualifications: Understanding of procedures and functions related to special education within the school system. Experience in urban education and Title I funded schools. Culturally responsive communication skills with parents, students, staff, and community members. Commitment to collaboration, professional growth, and self-reflection. Bilingual skills are a plus. Experience teaching in diverse student environments and team teaching environments. Essential Functions: Assess students’ skills and develop teaching plans accordingly. Adapt lessons to meet individual needs and develop IEPs. Teach and mentor students in various settings. Implement and monitor IEPs and behavior plans. Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress to parents and staff. Use technology to support instruction. Manage classroom behavior and establish a positive learning environment.
