SUMMARY :

Provides internal and external customer support by reviewing and administering contracts and grants; provides business/financial support to Goodwill of the Finger Lakes community programs; develops and manages grant budgets as well as budgets for our community programs; provides reports to governmental, organization and other external and internal customers/funders; and is an integral Finance team member and fully participates in the organizational management team. Subscribes to and promotes Goodwill of the Finger Lakes’ mission, vision and values. Works with organization departments and leadership to achieve Organization and department goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Contract review and administration
    1. Review contracts, grants and funding agreements to advocate for Organization interests and benefit and ensure all parties involved with the contract are informed and in agreement.
    2. Prepare and manage grant budgets in partnership with Community Program leaders.
    3. Initiate periodic meetings with community program leaders to review grant and financial performance and current and upcoming contracts for timely renewal.
    4. Ensure complete contract submission requirements are met.
    5. Oversee website management and portals for Federal, State, County contracts (e.g. OCFS/CBVH, CCSI, ContrackHQ, NYS Grants Gateway) to expedite approval process, company user profile maintenance
    6. Interface with legal counsel as needed for contract interpretation and recommendations.
    7. Resolve contract administrative issues, voucher/billing issues, status of approval, requirement needs, delays, etc.
    8. Prepare the annual NYS Consolidated Fiscal Report or coordinate process with auditors.
    9. Administer and maintain the contract management database.
    10. Supports grant development process with grantwriters.
    11. Oversees grant collections and payments; ensures timely payment.
    12. Maintain and update procedures relating to contract and grant administration and reporting requirements.
  2. Business/Financial Support
    1. Partner with leaders of community programs to provide insight and recommendations to improve effectiveness and financial results
    2. Analyze cost drivers and revenue sources in light of Community Program objectives.
    3. Help develop pricing models and evaluate new business opportunities.
  3. Reporting
    1. Ensure accurate and timely submission of government reporting and disclosure requirements.
    2. Ensure employee classifications are accurately reported, working with People Resources and the various departments for data retrieval to complete quarterly labor reports.
  4. Other tasks as assigned by Chief Financial Officer

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Financial analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting contracts and regulations.
  • Strong ability to collaboratively communicate between departments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with external organizations (funders, federal/state organizations).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines.
  • Self-starting.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, database management, internet). Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central a plus.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other relevant field, M.B.A preferred. 4-6 years relevant experience. Experience in not-for-profit grant management, NYS CFR is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time and to work extensively with computers. The employee needs to have reasonable mobility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
