Responsible for partnering with internal and external teams to identify new and evolving threats to the payments environment. Develops and deploys countermeasures to help prevent payment data compromises and mitigate fraud losses. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
Responsibilities
As a Fraud Risk Investigator, you will be at the forefront of protecting the integrity and security of financial transactions. Your role involves investigating, analyzing, and working towards mitigation of fraudulent activities within the payment ecosystem. You will work closely with various teams and stakeholders both internally and externally.
Responsibilities will include:
· Support of management team to in delivery of strategic business objectives.
· Assisting with implementation of fraud products and programs.
· Consultation and training services related to fraud incidents, programs, products, or trends for internal and external stakeholders.
· Monitoring and reviewing of fraud trends to identify anomalies and support development of preventative strategies with partners.
· Represent Discover at industry events.
· Collect, build, and manage storage of artifacts associated with work.
· Prepare and review materials associated with audit and internal business reviews.
· Write technical documents associated to training, incidents, and others as required.
· Investigate alerts associated with fraud detection systems.
· Utilization of fraud detection tools and technology.
· Support identification of emerging threats, fraud prevention tactics, and training methods.
· Stay updated and current with regulatory requirements.
· Support leadership functions as designated.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
· Bachelor's Degree in Security, Risk Management, Information Systems Administration, Criminal Justice, Decision Analytics, or related field
· 4+ years of experience in Fraud, Information Security, Engineering, Criminal Justice, Decision Analytics, or related field
· In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in Fraud, Information Security, Engineering, Criminal Justice, Decision Analytics, or related field
Preferred Qualifications

· PCIP
· Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
· Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI)
· Experience with SnowFlake or SQL program language
· Advanced application and use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint).

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $75,500.00 to $127,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
