Traveling Experienced Carpenter

Stansell is a rapidly growing, WBE certified, general contractor specializing in commercial construction services across the Southeast United States. We focus on serving clients in the commercial market with emphasis on the following project types: restaurant dining and quick service food.

We are looking for highly skilled/experienced Carpenters to join our team. The ideal candidate must have his or her own transportation and tools. All applicants must pass a background screening and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Understand drawings for framing and other construction projects on-site
• Follow instructions of Lead prior to commencing work
• Demolition of existing components.
• Frame walls, ceilings, soffits, etc., based on specific project needs
• Select, understand, and evaluate materials needed for each task
• Construction of various components of a building including remodel work, new construction and occasionally finishes.

Requirements and Skills

• 5+ years’ experience in general carpentry
• Additional 5+ years’ experience in finish carpentry preferred
• Extensive knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, miter saw and jigsaw
• Remodeling experience is a must
• Capable of climbing on ladders and carrying at least 80 pounds
• Knowledge of lumber grades and metal framing materials
• Apply plywood / drywall to walls or ceilings.
• Fasten panels to the interior / exterior framework of building.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and designs.
• Measure, cut, fit, and fasten various materials.
• Prepare materials by sawing, drilling, or cutting holes in panels for electrical outlets, air-conditioning units, and plumbing.
