The Electrical Products Group was recently purchased from Avail Infrastructure Solutions by nVent Electric plc ("nVent") and consists of three business units, Enclosure Systems, Switchgear Systems and Bus Systems. As a part of nVent, the Electrical Products Group is a leading provider of infrastructure solutions, designed to help ensure safe and reliable electrical operations primarily in the infrastructure vertical, including power utilities and data centers.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

    \n
  • Retrieve and review all customer specification documents, notes, sales quotes, vendor quotes, drawings, and diagrams provided for the purposes of designing a product for the customer.
  • \n
  • May revise drawings and designs based on change orders and customer requests.
  • \n
  • Research specific electrical code and regulation requirements related to buildings/projects being designed, as needed.
  • \n
  • Meet with the customer to accurately interpret design specifications, as requested through Project Management.
  • \n
  • Coordinate and communicate with staff members in engineering, production, design, and management to ensure designs meet customer expectations.
  • \n
  • Work with manufacturing staff to interpret designs, answer questions, and make changes as needed.
  • \n
  • Prepare Bill of Materials and electrical drawing packages for review.
  • \n
  • Analyze specifications and performance requirements to ensure that designs meet specifications.
  • \n
  • Assist in creating standards for improvement in efficiency.
  • \n
  • Perform additional duties as requested.
  • \n

YOU HAVE:

  • High school diploma or equivalency (GED) preferred. Associate degree in engineering or CAD preferred, or equivalent drafting experience.

  • Hands-on Industrial Electrical experience.
  • \n
  • Basic knowledge of electrical equipment and circuitry required.
  • \n
  • Ability to read electrical schematics required.
  • \n
  • Proficient Knowledge of electrical codes, including NEC, IEC, and CSA.
  • \n
  • Working knowledge of CAD, preferred.
  • \n

  • Basic hand tools and measuring devices.
  • \n
  • Able to read and comprehend somewhat complex instructions.
  • \n
  • Able to write notes or simple correspondence.
  • \n
  • Able to effectively communicate information to coworkers
  • \n
\n

  • Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands: Occasional standing or walking, carrying light materials or equipment, bending, crouching, or reaching
