Position Summary

The scope of work for the position is to guide and train crew members in job tasks as well as perform construction and/or survey related functions such as, but not limited to, the essential duties listed below.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Survey duties in the following areas:

  • Perform CIS, DCVG, ACVG, DOC and PCM surveys
  • Collect GPS data
  • Pipeline locating
  • Soil resistivity testing
  • Stray current interference
  • Rectifier troubleshooting
  • AC mitigation
  • Annual Survey
  • Short location
  • System identification
  • Current requirement testing
  • Use of small hand tools
  • Use of voltage meters and data loggers

Construction duties in the following areas:

  • Use of hand and power tools
  • Operation of small construction equipment
  • Excavation and potholing
  • Under ground and above ground conduit work
  • Low voltage wiring
  • Installation of electrical panels
  • Lifting and handling 50+ lbs material bags
  • Perform cathodic protection tasks for water tanks, water treatment facilities, and water pipelines

Additional duties:

  • Work independently or with crews
  • May run smaller crews and jobs
  • Driving company vehicles
  • Complete accurate Timesheets and Dailies and submit on time
  • Additional duties may be assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • NACE CP-1 certification plus 2 years of corrosion-related industry experience required
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per insurance requirements
  • Must pass pre-employment DOT drug screening and physical as well as being subject to random drug testing throughout employment
  • Must pass client required Operator’s Qualifications (“OQ”)
  • If assigned to the Nuclear Services Department, clearance acceptance qualifications per client will be required

Knowledge/ Skills /Abilities

  • Must have ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees and Clients
  • Ability to perform work unsupervised (Nuclear Services requirement)
  • Mechanical and Electrical aptitude required
  • Basic working knowledge of using a computer and smartphone
  • Experience using hand tools preferred
  • Completion of any regional Corrosion Short Courses preferred
  • Basic Operator Qualifications preferred
  • Obtain and pass OSHA 30 training required
  • Obtain and pass MSHA preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Responsible and self-motivated

Physical and Work Environment Demands

  • Frequent travel required (with overnight stay)
  • Frequent overtime required
  • Work outdoors in various climates including extreme heat and cold
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more, overhead, kneeling, crouching, standing, as well as carry for a minimum of 50 feet
  • Walk for extended distances in varying conditions and terrain
  • Use a variety of hand tools and electronic meters
  • Ability to follow worksite safety instructions physically and visually
  • Driving a vehicle to and from work sites in all types of weather conditions and in heavy traffic and/or at night

Full-Time Position

Pay $19.50/hr. - opportunity to earn $20.50/hr. after 90 days!
