Position: Civil Engineer (Licensed)

Division: Design Build

Report to: Director of Operations – Design Build Division

Overview: Provide civil engineering support for WMC’s Design Build Division on a wide range of residential and civil projects, from concept and design through permitting and construction. Interface with owners, architects, contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure delivery of a quality product and service. Support project pursuit efforts including bidding and proposal support for larger projects.

Required: Active Licensed Civil Engineer (PE).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Design Build Division and project teams to support residential and civil projects from planning through construction.
• Provide civil design support for site development including grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater, and related civil scopes.
• Serve as Engineer of Record on applicable projects, including review and stamping of civil plans as required.
• Prepare civil plan sets, supporting calculations, and permitting packages for residential and civil site development projects.
• Fully review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to understand scope and ensure coordination between civil and architectural components.
• Coordinate with owners, agencies, and consultants to support permitting, approvals, and project compliance requirements.
• Provide constructability input and practical solutions to support efficient field execution and cost control.
• Assist with bidding larger projects by supporting quantity takeoffs, scope review, and technical documentation as needed.
• Keep current on project and jobsite activities to ensure engineering decisions align with field conditions and project schedule.
• As a representative of WMC, demonstrate high professionalism and aptitude toward customers and stakeholders.
• Ensure good decisions for the company throughout the project by identifying risks early and providing clear, accurate engineering direction.
• Minimize risk and liabilities to WMC by properly documenting communications, revisions, and engineering decisions throughout the project.
• Generate, maintain, and update project documentation and processes in coordination with the Design Build team using Procore project management software.
