Summary The Cisco Network Engineer role is responsible for configuring, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing Cisco solutions for a California State Agency. Job Details Job#: 2021446 Responsibilities Scope of Role Responsibilities Serve as the dedicated Cisco Network Engineer for the California State Agency. Configure, install, monitor, troubleshoot, and repair technical networking solutions. Assist with assessments, planning, design, configuration, installation, and support of solutions. Validate solution designs, bill of materials, statements of work, and labor estimates. Track client work, service calls, and documentation accurately and timely. Travel between Agency sites is required; candidate needs reliable transportation. All travel expenses, including IRS Mileage reimbursement, tolls, and parking, will be covered. Minimum Security Clearance No clearance required. Qualifications and Requirements At least 5 years of experience as a Cisco Network Engineer. Strong Cisco networking experience, including Cisco Wireless. Experience with network monitoring, management, troubleshooting tools, and techniques. Familiarity with other networking products like Palo Alto, F5, NSX/Forescout. Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical personnel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills. Strong time management skills. Ability to travel to client locations as needed. Availability to work evenings and weekends during client cutovers. High level of independence, strong client service skills, and organizational ability for multitasking. Must be a team player and able to work independently. Reliable transportation and cell phone required. Preferred but not required: Bachelor's degree.
