We are looking for a skilled Category Manager 2 to oversee procurement activities and ensure efficient purchasing processes for software, services, and systems. This contract position is based in Houston, Texas, with an initial duration of three months, potentially extending up to five months. The role requires a strong background in purchasing and familiarity with procurement systems to deliver high-quality results.

Responsibilities:
• Execute procurement tasks related to software, services, and systems, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Create and manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts using established procurement systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand business needs and align purchasing strategies accordingly.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and adherence to agreements.
• Maintain detailed procurement documentation and records for audits and compliance purposes.
• Support internal audits and compliance reviews by providing required reports and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to optimize costs and enhance procurement processes.
• Ensure all procurement activities align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to facilitate smooth operations.• Minimum of 4 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in using procurement systems such as SAP ECC or SAP R/3.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and terms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage purchase orders, requisitions, and contracts effectively.
• Knowledge of compliance functions and adherence to procurement policies.
• Excellent organizational skills for maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Proven ability to identify cost savings and drive process improvements.
