Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Drive a 10-passenger bus for older adults between their homes and the senior center. The service operates Monday-Friday 8 AM - 4 PM within the boundaries of Bloomfield Township. This role is part of a team of part time drivers scheduled 1-2 days per week based on availability and demand. Job sharing may be considered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
  • Drive the bus to transport older adults between various locations.
  • Assist people with safe entry and exit as needed.
  • Provide insights and feedback related to vehicles and routes.
  • Operate wheelchair lift and anchors as needed.
  • Clean and inspect the bus as well as wash the exterior of the bus.
  • Deliver pool water sample to the County Health Department weekly.
  • Ensure the bus is always full of gas.
  • Complete and document the SMART daily physical check of bus.
  • Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
  • Clear driving record
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
  • 1 to 3 years' experience
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
Licenses or Certifications

Chauffeur's License
