Grand View University Tenure Track Faculty Position in Athletic Training Position: Assistant Professor of Athletic Training Department: Athletic Training
Location: Des Moines, IA
Effective Date: Fall Semester, 2025
Minimum Qualifications: All applicants must be Athletic Training Certified, have a current or the ability to obtain an Iowa Athletic Training License, and have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) with the appropriate healthcare field designation. Applicants must have a Doctoral degree in Athletic Training or related field with athletic training clinical experience. The new faculty member must prioritize effective communication and work cooperatively with departmental colleagues. We are looking for an individual with diversity in perspective, knowledge and/or skills.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have clinical and teaching experience. We are looking for applicants with experience teaching in a professional athletic training education program. Teaching assignment may include teaching in both the Master of Science in Athletic Training and undergraduate Kinesiology program. Final course assignments will depend on the candidate's experience or expertise. We are looking for an individual willing to grow and develop with us as we continue to build a program that nurtures diversity, equity and inclusion.
Duties: The successful candidate in the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) will work cooperatively to develop and teach courses in both the didactic and clinical components of the program. The candidate will utilize face-to-face, on-line, blended and hyflex teaching modalities to facilitate student learning. Service responsibilities will include but not be limited to assisting with: student recruitment, recruitment and management of student clinical experiences, and the reporting and management of student learning objectives and program objectives. They will help foster a strong clinical educational experience and mentor students in and outside the classroom and clinic. A successful candidate will be innovative, collaborative and willing to engage in fostering the collective success of the MSAT.
