Job Description

Air Import & Export Coordinator

Key responsibilities

  • Shipment coordination: Arrange and manage air freight shipments from origin to destination, including collections, bookings, and deliveries.
  • Documentation: Prepare and process all necessary paperwork, such as air waybills, export declarations, Arrival notices, Delivery orders and customs documents.
  • Customs compliance: Ensure shipments comply with all U.S. and international customs regulations, including obtaining permits and licenses for controlled goods.
  • Carrier communication: Liaise daily with airlines, truckers, and other carriers to confirm status, book space, and arrange for pickup and delivery.
  • Customer service: Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates, answering questions, and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Tracking and tracing: Monitor shipments throughout transit, update tracking data, and manage data entry to ensure milestones are recorded accurately.
  • Financial administration: Generate invoices for clients and verify payable invoices for accuracy before processing.
  • Problem-solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies to prevent recurrence.

Essential skills and qualifications

  • Experience: Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics THIS IS A MUST
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs, and logistics processes.
  • Organizational skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with a wide range of parties.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). CargoWise system is a big plus!
  • Soft skills: High attention to detail, team player, analytical, reliable, problem-solving abilities, and strong customer service skills.
  • Education: A high school diploma is often the minimum, with a bachelor's degree in a related field being a plus.
  • Salary $58-60K year + overtime
  • Schedule Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Temp to perm

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $28.00 - $30.00 Per Hour
